PRETREATMENT
SILSBOND refers to a group of patented pretreatment products developed by Ecosil to provide improved paint adhesion and prolonged service life of painted metal parts
METAL PRETREATMENTS are thin films/coatings that significantly improve the adhesion of metal surfaces to various paints, including powder coats, liquid paints, and electrophoretic coatings (E-coats). These pretreatments contribute to the extended service life of painted metal components. Metal pretreatments are applied across diverse industries, such as automotive, appliance, heavy equipment, and aerospace manufacturing. Conventional pretreatments include chromate pretreatment, which employs hexavalent chromium (Cr6), as well as zinc and iron phosphate pretreatments that rely on phosphates which have environmental concerns.
SILSBOND products offer an effective alternative to the above conventional pretreatments, delivering comparable or superior performance through the use of environmentally responsible chemicals in their formulation.
