ECOSIL provides objective materials screening and analysis of problem areas and equipment designs. We also provide access to proprietary technology through licensing, development of optimum silane formulations, and transfer of application know-how.
Our proprietary technologies include numerous pretreatment and passivation formulations containing silanes. In addition, high quality superprimers and pigments are also available for corrosion protection of metallic surfaces including aluminum alloys, hot and cold-rolled carbon steels, specialty steels, hot-dip galvanized steels, brass and brass-coated steel and other metallic-coated materials. Our expertise with rubber-to-metal bonding can be applied to many other bonding applications as well.
ECOSIL performs laboratory testing of its proposed solutions for customer specific applications. In addition, we can conduct production line trials and industry standard or company-specific tests.
We also provide services for material characterization, corrosion testing, and coating thickness measurement, in addition to developing application-specific solutions for our customers. Material characterization is available using SEM/EDX, TOFSIMS, FTIR-ATR, IR and XRD. Corrosion testing can be performed using salt spray, salt immersion, humidity exposure, cyclic corrosion testing and electrochemical equipment.
Our laboratory is located in Fairfield, Ohio and includes testing facilities for a variety of coating performance evaluation tests. Our corrosion testing cabinet is capable of performing salt fog tests and humidity and cyclic tests. We also have testing equipment that is routinely used for conducting the following tests:
■ Electrochemical measurements, such as DC, EIS, Electrochemical Noise
■ Corrosion tests, such as ASTM B-117
■ Surface characterization techniques, such as TOFSIMS and XPS (at UC)
■ Electron and optical microscopy, such SEM/EDX, TEM, AFM and environmental SEM (at UC)
■ ICP/AAS (at UC)
■ FTIR
■ Thermogravimetric techniques, such as TGA and DSC (at UC)
■ Innovation
■ Joint collaboration
■ Growth
